Engine Controller Unit (ECU), the main component of an electronically controlled vehicle, constantly monitors and controls the operations of the engine. ECUs test and calculate the air-fuel mixture ratio and engine ignition advance angle based on the data input from multiple sensors, including MAP sensor, throttle position sensor, air temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, and others. They monitor and control the engine’s fuel supply, fuel injection timing, ignition closing angle, engine idling operation and other vehicle accessory systems in real time to maintain the best energy conversion rate.
ECUs have complex structures and are exposed to harsh environments during operation, so it needs special protection. For example, due to frequent temperature changes in the working area caused by the heat dissipation of the controller’s electronic components, it is necessary to use venting products which not only dissipate heat, but also equalize pressure.
Specific requirements for venting products are as follows:
Stable ECUs are the basis for regular engine operation. The excellent performance of IPRO weldable vents can effectively improve the stability of it. IPRO snap-fit vent has two interface types: SFVA and SFVS. SFVA series correspond to the opening size of 6.4mm, and SFVS series correspond to the opening size of 10.4mm. IPRO snap-fit vents are made with high WEP and precision welding technology to realize an IP rating of IP67, IP68 and IP69k; The casing is combined of PBT and ePTFE, resulting in low water absorption, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, etc. In addition, IPRO has also launched two types of heat resistant vents with the working temperature up to 120°C and 150°C to meet different customer needs for temperature resistance.
